As long as this screw is a contact screw, there's no surprise about your phone not responding once reassembled.

I suggest that you use different screwdrivers, not being able to give you an accurate reference as long as I no longer own an iPhone 4. If you still can't manage to screw it or that the head is a bit damaged, some tools sold f.e. at iFixit may help you. I personally use [product|IF145-127|this one] for damaged screws.
