Lets pop off the bottom cover and do an inspection do you see any discoloring on the logic board (corrosion)? If the system looks a little dusty I would recommend using a soft paintbrush lightly wipe the surfaces and use a can of can'ed air to blow the dust out.

I would also do an inspection of the battery connector. See if you can unplug the connector and replug in. Sometimes the contacts need to be reseated.
