Lens wont retract screen says cybershot only until batt are removed

The lens was slightly bumped while the zoom was being used and now I cant get it to retract at all, I done the battery thing, reset the camera and tried to get the camera to even work while zoomed nothing! Keeps saying cybershot until I remove the batteries but if I turn the camera on with the play back pictures then the screen tells me to turn off and back on but then it freezes on cybershot again…. any ideas?
