Battery does not fully charge

I have an iBook g4 14", with charging problems. I have tried 3 new batteries and all do the same. When I plug my computer in to the adapter the adapter light turns yellow and charges for about 6 min. then turns green. Each time another of the little lights on the battery usually turns green. The computer runs fine off power adapter. I take out the battery and replace it right away and adapter light turns yellow and will charge for another few minutes then turns green and stops charging. I can do this enough times to fully charge battery and use the computer until the battery runs down, and with no warning, shuts down. To recharge I need to repeat the process again. When charging the the yellow light comes on and the icon in the menu bar shows percent of charge but when green light comes on the "x" is in the icon and no percentage shows. I have used two different power adapters, both work fine on my ti book, but with the same out come on the iBook of needing to remove and replace the battery in compartment so it will charges a few minutes more.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Tyler. I am still using 11.3.9 so the coconut will not help me, it is for 10.4 and above. But I do think the battery is OK. So I have ordered the battery connector since that seems to fit the problem. I will let you know if I have to move on to replacing the dc-in board.

I received the battery connector yesterday. With the help of the repair guide from iFixit it was very easy to replace the part. The problem with the battery not fully charging is fixed. Thanks for the help.

Interesting problem. I would try a couple of different things. First of all, even though I am pretty sure it is not your actual battery, I would try downloading "coconut battery" at:

http://www.coconut-flavour.com/coconutba...

It's free and this program will tell you what the original, current and maximum charge is of your battery. If that doesn't shed any new light on the situation. Then I would think your problem is either the battery connector or the dc in board. Both of which can be found with the following links:

Both parts are fairly inexpensive. If it isn't either of those, then I would assume the worst and say it is your logic board. Please let me know what you find out!
