Replaced LCD Screen, not turning on?

Hey guys!

I found my sister's iPod with a broken screen and wanted to try to fix it. Previously when I plugged it in to charge, the screen would light up and I could hear the click wheel clicking when I operated it. After replacing the screen and powering on -- only a sad iPod logo.

I re-seated the connectors between the hard drive and logic as well as the ribbon cable between the battery and logic board but the same issue is happening. I plugged it into my PC and nothing pops up on screen. At this point I'm stumped...how do I determine if this is related to a HDD issue or a logic board issue?

Looking forward to hearing answers.

nguyenphanlong, if you get nothing when you plug your iPod into your PC, that means you have a power issue. You did say that you get the sad face icon. In most cases, the sad iPod icon indicates a hardware issue. Try to force your iPod into Disk Mode, and try to restore your iPod. You can get instructions and explanation on this from here. If you can not place your iPod in diagnostic mode, try disk mode and see if you have access to the HDD with your OS. Should this fail as well, I would plan on replacing the hard drive. Since you just worked on your iPod, make sure that all your connectors and cables are properly seated and engaged. Make sue that the battery cable connector is still properly on the board. It does have a tendency of breaking of the logic board. Hope this helps, good luck.
