Water damage: Light and proximity sensors not working. What to do?

I dropped my iPhone into the water and now everything is working except both the light sensor and proximity sensor. So on which piece of the are they located? Is this one part I can replace or do I have to buy a bigger and more expensive piece? Or should I first check the connection cables if they are damaged by the water?

Sorry, I'm very careful because I never opened an iPhone before and since I rely on my daily basis so much on this device I don't want to damage anything.

I noticed you never got an answer to this. Are you still having this problem?

Yes, my phone can still not make any use of these two sensors. Every few weeks I also have a series of random crashes in which it turns itself off.

Do you have any suggestions or links to helpful sites?

Thanks.
