My LCD only shows pale black

Hi,

I was working with my vaio (vgn cs36gj), suddenly the screen became pale black, it is on but only black, when I connect it to external monitor it works perfect, from that time, sometimes after turning on for 10 or 15 minutes LCD start working normally, restart and turning off it still works, but if I turn it off for a long time , it agains has no picture from starting up, it is on but only pale black.... how should I now that what is the problem? is it inverter? cable? I don't think that it is LCD problem because if it start working, it works perfect with usual color...

Mohammad, check and see if it make a difference if you move the screen to different angles when it is out. If it should come on or briefly flash when you move it, then there is a strong possibility that you have a broken wire. Of course, it is possible that it is the inverter, but usually in that case your screen should be solid black. I suggest you disassemble it to determine if there is any damage to the cables, if there is none, start by replacing the inverter. Hope this helps, good luck.
