monitor shorts out and goes black but can see it is in

When I turn on unit monitor comes on for a second and then goes dark. I can move it and it will flash but not stay on very frustrating. Can I fix it?

Stephen Alexander, "for a second and then goes dark. I can move it and it will flash but not stay on" sounds like a bad display flex cable. I would start by replacing this first. Of course, while you are working on your computer, make sure all the connectors are properly seated. Use these guides to work on your computer. Hope this helps, good luck.
