Get a multimeter. Check that the fuse is OK. If it is ok, open the cover at the back of the iron. Plug in the iron. Be careful not to get electrocuted. Check that the cables from the socket on the wall have power. place the leads of the multimeter on the live and neutral and check for 240V or 110v depending on your country. If no power here cable could have a problem.
If there is power here, turn of power and unplug socket. open top cover, you will see the heating element. Check for continuity between the ends of the element, If no continuity the element is dead and you need to buy a new iron. If it has continuity then check continuity of other components connected in series with the element. Some models a limit thermostat to prevent the iron from over heating. This looks like a small resistor about one centimeter long, if it has no continuity, cut it off and bypass it. It is a safety device that fails when it senses high temperatures in case the main control thermostat fails. If you can find a replacement replace it, if you cant find a replacement, you can use it and hope the main thermostat does not fail.

Ensure that the unit is tightly plugged into a working outlet. Some units are equipped with a Motion Smart Auto Off technology. Moving the iron will cause it to begin to reheat. Are you getting a red or green light?

There is a small thermal fuse inline . This is usually on the red wire. Bypass this with a wire and check if it switches on. This happens a lot with the irons we use and i usually bypass the fuse if it blows a second one. But this is a suggestion and would be safer to replace the fuse by aoldering a new one in line

I need to replace my thermal fuse in my iron but do not know the rating, the writing on the old one has gone. What is a recommended temperature rating? Are all irons the same?

yes new onr but on low indicater not on only high indicator on how
Check the fuse in the plug this is common in electrical items to be blown

You must be using a 2 pins plug which is very dangerous in this high heat appliance. You need to use a 3 pins plug with the earth wire for safety reason.

I have the same problem with my iron. I no longer believe that my iron can be repaired, unfortunately.
But maybe anyone can recommend me how to choose electrical home appliances?
I read a lot of different reviews and it helps me a little on choosing.

2. Good warranty - longer warranties to me show that the manufacturer has faith in their product and are prepared to back it

Go for the one that ticks most if not all of the boxes.
