My lap top has a cracked screen and its not been to bad I just ran it through my monitor. But then It came on last week no longer recognizing me as administrator . When I try to reboot the system it wont bring up the other screen so I cant direct it. Basically its become useless...But Ive gotten another screen just please need some one to walk me through this I cant afford an error or another h,p, Thanks Jon

First you need to make sure that whether your monitor LCD has really gone or its the VGA. Try connecting an external monitor and see if it works properly to make sure that your GPU is fine. If it works fine then you can order a replacement screen online and download the service manual or follow some YouTube tutorials to replace it by yourself.

Thanks david for your input .I love Ifixit its the bomb for all us tinkerers out there....We got it in and yes the screen was litterly shattered but thanks just the same

Once again you guys have saved me some hard earned cash. Have the new screen in and its working great. Now if you could just tell me how to get back on line seems the 2 months of inactivity and countless keys I tryed hitting while it was in its shattered stage have made unresponsive to my old passwords when the user screen comes up. But old turkey a million thanks
