Replaced iPhone 5 battery now phone won't turn on

Hi, I replaced my iPhone 5 battery and now it won't turn on. I tried rebooting it, nothing happened. I tried hitting the vibrate button to see if it was the LCD and no vibrate. I have had it plugged in now for 30 min to see if the battery was just dead and it still won't turn on. Any suggestions?

ok so i let it sit charging and now its on but its stuck in recovery mode. it restores and then just says its in recovery and that I need to restore it and it continues in that cycle...

Did you try to place it in DFU mode, then restore?

Giovanni. Did you pry the battery out between the battery and the logic board or between the battery and the housing?

Fun fact: Some aftermarket / bad quality batteries do not allow you to restore your phone and cause the issues you are having.

Buy a quality battery such as ones from iFixit or eTradesupply.

Also check the charger port for any dust or lint. If there is, use a toothpick or equivilant to clean it out.

I had the same problem. Took the phone apart again and I had the black piece from the battery on the leads wrong. I had to make sure I carefully put the little piece between battery & mother board, then put the leads on the board. Phone works again! Awesome! I praise God for helping me understand what I had done wrong. I hope I explained it well. Hm, the little piece that is attached to the battery with the leads on it-at first I was just placing it on the motherboard, what happened is the little piece of plastic was covering the leads, so motherboard could not read it. I took the little flap & unfolded it off the leads then put that down between the battery & motherboard & then the area with the leads laid on the motherboard and viola, the phone works with new battery! Yea!

Tried everything else and nothing work for me. What did work after 15 tear downs was changing the orientation of the cable. Basically a replacement battery requires you to fold the ribbon yourself so it is in the correct position for the connector to attach and the ribbon to fit down between the battery. First I folded the ribbon the same way as the battery I removed from the iPhone. The iPhone would turn on no problem if I had the screen not fully fitted back into position, as soon as I would push it down it would go off and wouldn't start. Pull it up again with suction cup and it worked again, seems to have been a grounding/shorting issue.

As a last ditch effort I carefully bent the battery ribbon with the connector in the other direction opposite of the oem battery (over not under) and it worked perfectly ever since. Hope this makes sense and works for someone

If the power and home button don't work then you have damaged componants that surround the battery connector and most sumthing else that's y the phone will not turn on

My problem was the display. I replaced the display two weeks before with an aftermarket LCD. It is possible that was damaged when I reopened it. I put back my cracked original LCD and it started back again.

I had this issue with a sprint Iphone 5. Disconnect the battery and plug the phone into the computer. IT will power on. Use tiny umbrella to force it into recovery and install ios.. You will get error 2001..

Once that happens.. Unplug the phone and connect the battery. Force the phone into recovery with tiny umbrella and install ios again.

If you are still in recovery use tiny umbrella to force the phone out of recovery.

Also a Sprint iphone 5. But I think the power button is also not working cause I could not turn it on without the battery and with the battery the only way to turn it on is if I just let it charge. So I'm assuming the power button is not working. And because I cant get it to turn on without the battery, it is not recognized in tiny umbrella. If I use tiny umbrella with the battery it just restarts and goes right back to recovery mode just like restoring it in itunes does...

Tiny umbrella?

I had a very similar problem with my old iPhone 5. Long story short: I had a Black 16GB iPhone 4S, the screen got cracked and the Wifi Chip broke (Under settings the Wifi option was greyed out). I payed $60 for an issuance replacement by AT&T (Asurion). Each "refurbished" iPhone 4S they sent me had problems (they sent me 5 iPhone 4S's each one had a problem), so they felt bad and sent me a Space Grey iPhone 5 64GB. Unfortunately for me I quickly discovered there was a battery problem, and I ignored it due to the fact that I was given a great upgrade. It came to the point where it was charged at 100% and would it last about 2 hours maybe less. So, I replaced the battery with one from iFixiT, and after replacing it the phone wouldn't charge or power on, even after putting the old battery back in. Anyways, I called AT&T one last time and they said they were so sorry for the trouble, and to show their graditude they sent me a brand new Space Grey iPhone 5S 32GB (to ensure I wouldn't have any more problems cause its new). Ok it's a rather "long" story Lol.
