Gsm and wifi connectivity issues.

One night my samsung galaxy s3 (gt i9300) decided not to recognize my Wifi. The next time I was in service area less than a quarter mile from the GSM tower it no longer held service. Seemingly only when the wind was blowing the right direction. Upon further troubleshooting I found the phone recognized the wifi and held a connection only when the phone literally sat on the router.

I am not unfamiliar with troubleshooting. I replaced the rear housing and the wifi lead wire. No gain or change from the issue.
