I synced my iPod to a Dell laptop and ever since i cant get it to be reconized by my apple computer. When I plug it in to my Mac it just comes up as a storage device and iTunes dosnt reconize it. I called Apple and they had me reset it a couple of times and still nothing. They said the only way to fix it is to go to an Apple Store which is 30 miles from me.

That's how iPods manage music... If you formatted it you've erased the onboard OS without that it's just a portable drive.
