Could the spring be broke, or need to be replaced ?

tarafından

i dont know what elsa could it be

I have same issue on my 2010 Troy Bilt Bronco 13wx78ks011 , where my foot pedal has fallen forward with no tension and looks like my rear variable speed pulley next to trans pulley, has popped out of it's socket. i put the belts back on and I bought a #38 spring for I'm guessing to put tension on the foot pedal. But i do not know how to keep the variable pulley in it's socket and where to hook BOTH ends of the #38 spring. The brake assembly has a #38 spring hooked on it and connected to the chassis on the right side of mower. ( side with cutting deck controls). To the right of that brake assembly I have the the foot drive pedal assembly to move the mower/ There is a shiney part with jagged teeth and a big opening at the back corner I'm guessing to hook my new #38 spring like the Brake assembly has. Please correct me if that's wrong. I do not know where the other end of #38 spring attaches and also wondering if it attaches to one of the pulleys to change the tension on the belts to make the mower move. Thanks

Likely the reason your tractor will not move with foot pedal depressed is that the drive belts are stretched and worn so the transaxle pulley is not grabbing and turning enough to engage transmission gears. One or both belts could contribute to this problem. So it is best to replace both upper and lower drive belts unless you have recently replaced one of them. The long lower belt engages the variable speed pulley from the engine crankshaft pulley which spins in ratio speed to how much pressure is put on the belt from the foot pedal. The secondary upper belt runs around the variable speed pulley to the transaxle pulley that turns the transmission gears causing mower to drive. Wear/slippage from either belt can cause a loss of driving power, even little or no movement at all. Of course your belt may have slipped off of a pulley in particular a tensioner pulley. So first look under the tractor and make sure belt is on and routed properly and if necessary adjust or replace any belt keepers that may have bent or broken which can cause a belt to slip off a pulley when a spinning belt is suddenly relaxed from tension. Overly stretched belts also have a tendency to slip off. While you check the belt spin all tensioner pulleys to make sure the bearings are turning freely. Worn/noisy/ ruff turning bearings restrict/hinder belt movement and causes premature belt wear/burning.

thanks for the advice

aha!!!!!!!!! I only swapped out the secondary upper belt thinking the pedal was connected to it. So I think you just solved the mystery. Thank you so much. I'm gonna order the longer lower belt now.

My problem is that when it gets in a tight spot it doesn’t want to stop when you release the accelerator

tarafından

I also just changed the lower belt but not the other

tarafından

I changed both belts. My peddle actually has no tension whatsoever. It just flops forward on it own.

Is there a spring that pushes the pedal to a standing position after you press it down? If so where is it located.

Thanks in advance.

Check to see if the linkage is broken.

Thanks, but not it. Pully was the culprit.

Where can you find out?

How does a bad pulley allow the accelerator to depress all the way down? Was the pulley loose? With mine, I can't make it go all the way down when the engine is off. It's only when I start driving that this happens and feels like I'm not getting enough power and speed. It seems to me that the belt should be extremely tight if the accelerator is pushed farther than it normally is. I don't get it. Can anyone explain this to me please?

Mine is a riding mower and this just happened to me today. When I looked closer I found that the rear belt sliped off. Who knew it had 2 belts.....

how does the belt go back on?

Pully was the culprit. I have a 97 Troy bilt riding lawn mower. It has 4 belts. Go Enter problem you are having on your computer and how to fix. It should take you to youtube. They have several videos on how to preform this task. Not that hard. Good luck.
