Why is my phome working but screen not?

I dropped my iphone today and now the screen stays completely black and will not let me do anything, I tried calling my phone to see if it would not turn on or if it was still on and it was still on and I was sliding my finger on the screen numerous times and in different locations and it would not let me answer. I went to put my phone into recovery mode and backup all my things but it will not let me unless I unlock my phone and I cant do that and I don't know what to do, ive tried holding down the power button and then turning it back on and it did so but the screen still does not work and I tried pressing the power and home button at the same time numerous times and nothing will work and I really need my phone to work

kenadey dobson, sounds like a bad display assembly. Use these guides to work on your phone. Disassemble it and take a look at the connector and the logic board. Make sure it is all still connected and no broken components. Once you find that it is okay, replace the complete display assembly and reevaluate.

the lcd connector might have been knocked loose. you need to have it checked at a local repair shop. if you are an enthusiast you could try it yourself. you can find a guide here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9foQGx-U...

its a rather simple task if you follow the steps there all you need is basic tools.
