No backlight after complete Touch/LCD replacement?

I repaired an iPhone using a complete Touch/LCD and the phone seems to work except for the backlight. As there is only three cables from the screen to the rest I wonder which one of these that powers the backlight?

Second question could of course be - is there any risk that I damage something else during the process that could effect the backlight?

hi peter, i edited your post - i think that "LSD replacement" is something different ;-)

the backlight and the lcd are powered by the same connector (1)

to the second question:

did you remove the battery while installing the lcd ?

if not, sure - it's possible that you shorted something

i only see 3 possible faults:

  1. the connector isn't plugged in correctly
  2. the backlight of the lcd does not work
  3. the coil for the backlight died while the connector shorted the contacts

Where is the "coil for the backlight"?

If your iphone screen was working (backlight) prior to screen change then a short has occured and the coil is fried. Check out 'backlight coil replacement 3gs' (and other combinations) on ebay -there are guys who will fix your phone for £20.
