Fix/ Replace Cracked Screen

I have a big cracked screen on my old HP Mini Netbook laptop. This product I believe is discontinued so it might be a fortune to fix. I also want to take this opportunity to learn how to fix a computer. Does anyone know how to replace the screen and where I may get my hands on a new screen to replace with?
