scott, the first thing I suggest for you to do , is to double check your work. Make sure everything is properly connected, check the connectors for any bend or broken pins. If all of that is fine, I would return the assembly and replace it once more. It is possible that you have a faulty one. Worst case scenario are logic board issues with the touchscreen IC. I agree with you and did exactly that, I have changed the assembly twice and still have the same issue. If it is the touchscreen IC what would have caused that to go bad? The customer did break his lcd which is what I was repairing. Any information you can give regarding the touchscreen IC will be appreciated. Not something I have had to deal with before.
make sure the screen replacement part works with android 4.4, that is a common problem

Having same issue think my new screen doesn't work with 4.4 is there a way to fix this with out being able to use the touchscreen ? Like how can I undo the update? Any ideas
flash older firmware through Odin, all firmware available at sammobil

Try reverting back before 4.4, go to Sammobile and find older firmware for your phone and then download a program called Odin. Load the .tar file in the PDA section, untick repartition and flash when ready. good luck! (you will loose all data so back up first)
if you want to do things on your phone you can plug a wired xbox 360 controller or a wired ps3 controller and control your device with that
