Digitizer damaged during repairs

I repaired the home button following this:

I got it all working but the digitizer appears to be damaged in the process of heating and removing the front glass from the LCD frame.

When touching the screen in jitters and sporadically selects surrounding buttons or doesn't respond at all. I'm guessing the circuits at the top of the digitizer may be damaged?

I don't want to play with hairdryers again so I'll likely get an entirely new digitizer, LCD frame and home button and just screw the LCD back in.

Is there any way of repairing the digitizer - perhaps I didn't stick it back to the plastic correctly?

For what the LCD costs there's really no point in separating it to be honest. If the digitizer is actually damaged you can't repair it and it's not worth your time to even try

Thanks for the reply. Actually I damaged the LCD when taking it out the first time and learned the hard way to pry the sides of the screen rather than the bottom of the LCD. I've ordered a new one and it works perfectly, it's just the digitizer that's dead. I guess if the circuits are damaged there's not much hope short of soldering?

Check for damage on the digitizer and see if you can fix it but I don't think you can. For what they're worth you may as well buy a new one mate

Cheers, I suspect it'd be at least an hour's work to re-melt and "fix". I'll just order the new one for $20.

$20 seems quite steep. there about £4 here which is like £8 I believe
