Unable to reinstall OSX thats running only Windows7

Hi guys,

Please bare with my poor english.

Let me give a brief description on problem.

Details of my macbook air model a1370 - mid 2010. (64gb)

I removed OSX 10.6 accidentally and currently my macbook air is perfectly running with single os - windows7 with single entire partition of my ssd.

Since i lost the apple software reinstallation pen drive that came along with MBA i didn't find any way to re-install back OSX.

Right now i have external dvd drive and os x 10.6 original dvd ( which i got it form my friend who owns a MacBookPro5,5 ).

I tried to boot MBA with that dvd but it fails to boot with that cd.

Have tried all the keyboard options like c, r, alt (options), command etc even reset the SMC but no use.

Is there a way i can make the system to boot in to OSX installation upon restart (just like the way in installing ubuntu in windows)

Please suggest me a solution.

You'll need to visit your friend again. This time come with a USB thumb drive (32 GB or bigger). From your fiends system download the newest OS-X your system can support (Mavericks or Yosemite). Now using Disk Utility of your friends Mac setup the thumb drive with GUID and Mac OS Extended (Journaled) partition. Then run the OS installer prepping up the thumb drive with the OS. The last step is to copy over the OS installer app as you'll need it to install the OS onto your system.

OK, now with the prepped USB thumb drive boot up your system off of it (with the OS installer). Running Disk utility again we need to remove the Windows partition and again setup this time your internal drive with GUID and Mac OS Extended (Journaled) partition. Now run the OS installer you should find the process will complete this time.
