iPod stuck after using repair on itunes.

I am having trouble with my 80 Gb iopd classic 5th gen. Before i even restore my i pod classic on itunes my ipod was already making trouble. It didn't charge anymore and it always took very long. So after i restored it and let it charge it just switched to the carging please wait screne and it hasn't diappeared yet. I have tried every option of getting my ipod classic back to working order even letting it charge for 2 days but it just wont work any more. Is there anything wrong with my ipod classic and if yes what can i do.
