Problem with ASD 3S116 testing: GPU 0 Die Test 1
Hi Guys,,
What can you tell about my problem ?
Revision of iMac Mid 2007 strats up screen goes black (LED 4)
My presumption:
The first issue is the heatsink, then wrecked the videocard (vertical lines).
New heatsink, with other videocard.
Problem with ASD 3S116 testing: GPU 0 Die Test 1
Error: Sensor reading above alarm point. TEST FAILED.
The cable that leads towards the GPU heatsink has two cables.
The connector is not in the best condition.
Can the contact be broken ?
Hope to solve this issue.
Thanks, Arnoud
Update
Hi Dan, are you sure the connector has come loose. It's firmly attached into it's socket. Secured with kapton tape.
It reads out a temp, are you sure it's the connector that's at fault here ?
Update
Hi Dan,
Sorry, can't do that, the lcd screen goes black after 2 minutes.
I will replace the videochip and hopefully the connector on the heatsink by my repairman.
Thanks for your help.
I will update the question with the results.
Bu iyi bir soru mu?
The trick here is to use a second Mac and share the iMac's screen with it. Often I use this when I have dead screen issues trying to isolate out if the LCD is bad or if the sensor pop'ed shutting it down. In your case it's likely the GPU.
