Why is the power light blinking?

I plugged my blender in and hit the power button, but when I select a speed or press pulse, it wont blend. The red power light just keeps blinking.

I am just using the single serve blender option and this is happening so I dont have any of the large blender issues. Any other thoughts?

tarafından

I’m have the same problem

My blender and food processor gadgets are working but my single serve cup will not work it flashes red the lid is secure I locked it and heard the click and still nothing !!!????

tarafından

When I run the Ninja/Chef blender it smells like it over heats from just making a shake and then the power button blinks afterward

tarafından

No one ever answers the the single serve cup. I have that too. I bought a new blade thinking the find were worn. No change.

tarafından

Re: the single serve cup only being the one that causes the blinking light... solution is this: the cup latches into four slots when you put it in. One of the slots, the one above the locking icon that is painted on, has a sliding mechanism that makes a contact when you latch the cup. My problem was a small amount of dried up spillage had clogged the slider so it couldn't go down far enough to make the contact. After carefully cleaning it, the contact was made when latched and the light stopped blinking.

David Bohling, Also double check all the compartments are placed and secured properly if not that may also be a reason why it is not working.

Thank you, so much. I haven’t used mine fora quite a while and forgot the lid had to go on a specific way. Of course I couldn’t find my book but you saved me having to transfer my mango to my food processor which is much larger. Many, many thanks.

Bingo!!! My very first visit to this site as a member. There may have been two blinks, and here's my answer. It worked out beautifully 😃

David Boling, first try to line up the arrow on lid with the arrow on the handle. Arrow on handle. Make sure that you have the right lid. the power light will blink if you do not have the right lid or if it does not line up properly.

check the black plastic assembly that gets pushed down when you lock the jar. It has two stick up tabs, one at the top of the jar and one at the bottom. On my ninja, this piece runs down the handle. If can get out of place so the black plastic tab at the bottom does not press down enough and does not signal to the machine that a tight connection has been made.

Thanks for your help!

I followed this all the way up to the lid itself. The plastic piece that presses down the black plastic assembly must have broken off. I am able to hold a very small screwdriver in the hole between the lid and bowl to hold down the black plastic assembly. Not ideal, but not difficult either.

check your DIMM(RAM plate) one by one,if one is brocken,it can make all RAM not working

I have the same problem

I am getting frustrated, and I don't use it very often, I have the IQ 1500

My IQ is 150 and it wasn't easy to figure it out. Aligning the arrows helped.

Here's what I did to bypass the safety feature also because the prong was too short to activate the base button enough. With the top off I chose the right side of the 2 base buttons (either work) and pressed it down with a pencil tip and drilled a tiny hole into it with a drill and used a tiny screw to keep it from popping back up.

Update (09/02/2018)

The red dot is where you make the small hole for the screw to keep the button down. Winner winner chicken dinner!

I had same issue and i look at the alignment of the buttons and it turned out the safety mechanism (where the red dot or lock icons are) are not aligned and works only when i tried to put the handle part of the top base on the front right side (where the “pulse” side is). No need for holes or sticking any tissue paper.

tarafından

Thank you! Yay! It works

tarafından

@ninjanewbie Does that mean the left side safety switch is broken?

I had same problem, after looking at some videos, i came to know either container lid or base is not align correctly. I tried it but it did not worked. So i tried to check how it switches on, on the handle i see small gap where lid clicks. With a screw driver i slight pushed the button down and noticed, red light stopped flashing and other buttons green lights are on. I looked at the lid carefully and found that the part of lid which clicks the button is broken. I managed to fix it with inserting a small paper roll enough to push button when lid is placed. Hopefully this will help someone with same issue.

I purchased my Ninja off of Offerup advertised as used but looked like new for $20 so I jumped at it. I took it home and tried it but wldnt work..power button blinking. I start inspecting it and somehow the jar doesnt push the contact buttons on base so when I pushed them down with a fork without the jar attached the power light was steady. Soo I figured to roll up a piece of paper napkin and jst stuff it to where the little button stays pressed down and attached the jar and as incredible as may sound it worked!!! Im concluding that maybe the jar dsnt belong to the bottom blender part because nothing seems broken or missing it jst doesnt have contact to press those buttons down in order for power to work.

Hope this helps someone!!!

Thank you Cynthia Lopez! Putting a little piece of napkin on the base to keep the button down worked for me

if anyone has a Ninja that is stuck in single serving mode, I was able to gt mine working again. When I would put power on the little green light for the single serving light would come on and nothing else would work. I tried all the attachment but the green light for the single server would was on so no other attachment would work so I took a tiny screwdriver and jiggled the connections for the single server connection on the base. I pushed it over and snapped it a few times and the light finally went off. I then put the 72 ounce pitcher on and then pushed power and tapped the blend button and zoom it worked. I am excited. I thought I was going to have to buy an new base.

1.)use a straw from a kids juice box

cut it to size

2.)run it along side the base so that it is wedged in the slot that engages the locking mechanism.

3.) use black electrical tape, duct tape or scotch tape to tape it in place.

4.) optional: cut the tape so it is form-fitting around the curves and corners.

I might just have to “MacGyver” my ninja as well, having to stuff the tissue paper everytime is annoying!! Thanks very clever!

tarafından

This was the same problem we where having, it turns out that the little pin that sits on the inside of the blender that presses down on the base was broken off. So the mechanism was not clicking. We super glued it back on and now it works. Thank you so much!

tarafından

zambalabino, you rock! thought I had bricked the ninja, no method of putting the pitcher on made a difference. the drill fix worked like a charm! I really appreciate you posting your solution and the pics

with no jar on the base, if you press down the switch with a small screwdriver, should the red light go steady?? or not until you put a jar on it?

The container can only be set on the base in 2 positions to allow the Saftey button to be pressed in on the base. The handle corner needs to line up with one of the front 2 corners.
