Black Screen, LED Blink Code 4

I have an HP Pavilion dv7-1235NR laptop that was given to me to take a look at. The computer powers on but the screen stays black. The LEDs blink 4 times near the CAPS and NUM lock keys. I'm fairly sure this means a graphics card issue but the graphics are on the motherboard. Is the only fix for this a mobo replacement? Are there any issues with the OS that would come up if I install a new mobo?

Customer decided they did not want me to replace the mobo and would be looking to purchase a new laptop. Not sure why they wouldn't spend $100-$150 to fix what they had but spend $700+ for something new that would do the same thing.
