all boot option option tried. press f4 for recovery

I would like to buy a second hand samsung series 9 laptop. But with error " all boot option tried.

Press f4 key to recover with factory image using recovery or any others key for next boot loop iteration."

My question is, with error like above, can i re-install the laptop with fresh windows 8?

If yes, how to do it?

Thank you.

yes you can provided that the HDD is not damaged ....

To use a Pendrive You will need a 4GB+ USB flash drive for this procedure. then create your bootable USB Disk for the windows Or a windows 8 DVD disk

Then Follow below:

Shut down the computer and reboot into the BIOS by pressing F2 repeatedly immediately after pressing the Power button. Under the "Advanced" tab, set Fast BIOS Mode to Disabled. Under the "Boot" tab, set Secure Boot to Disabled, then OS Mode Selection to CSM OS. Then select "Boot Device Priority" and move USB HDD to the top. and Save your settings then restart

The computer should restart and boot from your USB drive into the Windows installation. Go through the prompts and choose the custom installation option and when it asks where you want to install Windows, click "Drive options (advanced)" and delete all the partitions on the drive and create your desire

The installation will go through and then restart, remove the USB Drive and reinsert it when the Win Logo appeared (If you don't remove the USB disk, you will end up at the initial installation prompt again)

Once the installation is finished you can go to Samsung site and search your ur lap model missing drivers and download them.

TIPs:

reboot into the BIOS and set Fast BIOS Mode back to Enabled (but keep Secure Boot disabled and the OS Mode as CSM OS) and you're done!

SOLVED:

I had the same problem on my Samsung laptop after I cleaned out all the partitions and reinstalled windows from a USB. The process required legacy USB.

After a flawless install I couldn't boot from the HDD.

I found that I could boot the OS on the HDD by plugging in the bootable Win USB and ignoring the "press any key to boot from USB".

After booting into Win from the HDD, I repaired BCD using Visual BCD, a free program. If you cant boot into windows, you can still make the HDD bootable by manually editing the BCD entries.

Then I went into command prompt and converted MBR disk to GPT using MBR2GPT command. This command will work only if the disk is a system (bootable) disk.

Then I shut down windows, removed USB, set Fast BIOS to enabled and disk type to UEFI.

The problem was that I made a single partition on HDD manually and windows never made a EFI boot partition on the HDD.

Hope this helps

The previous answer on this post: "Go to bios setting > boot> disabled secure boot>os made selection >cms and uefi os > " solves it only temporarily for me.

After you keep using the laptop, after sometime, it kept going back to Secure Booth in the Bios. It might be for security reasons, I dont know. And then I had to go back to the bios to reapply the steps: Boot-> disabled boot, etc.

So I went into the Bios, change to disable secure boot, etc, and boot into my windows 10 machine.

I opened the cmd in administrator mode (provided that you booted to windows), and ran the command: MBR2GPT /convert /allowFullOS

This commands allows windows 10 to boot in secure mode. Now my machine is working fine again, with normal bios options.

I had similar issue of exhusted boot options then my HDD was removed and replaced with brand new SSD. The windows was reinstalled on that new disk. Then to my surprise the message that was before on the old hdd is now showing every other start of my laptop which Samsung notebook 7 spin. The bios solution above didn't work. Would that imply that the new hard disk was not installed properly or what would be a once and for all solution. Would appreciate any lead. Thanks a lot.

I just fixed the same issue. I replaced the SATA cable that connects my hard drive to the motherboard and that was the issue. If you have this issue it may be a good place to check. Open up your laptop and see if the cable is damaged. Before you order the part make sure you have the right part number as I order the wrong one the first time. Once I got the part I installed it. Let me know if this helps.

I was able to get mine to boot a few times just by disconnecting and re-connecting the SATA cable. Good Luck.
