How do I reattach the screen

I am replacing the screen assembly on my Microsoft Surface Pro. The breakdown instructions suggest using 3M double stick tape. I have found two different types, one is thin transparent double stick tape and the other is foam double stick tape, like you would use on cars. Can anyone tell me which one is the correct one to use?

Also, I may need to replace the bezel under the screen. Does anyone know where I can purchase one?

Thanks for your reply. Now, I have another question. I know it is recommended to replace the lcd + digitizer together as an assembly, but how difficult is it to replace just the digitizer screen?

I've never attempted to replace just the digitizer. The display assembly is difficult enough to repair on these units, I imagine just the digitizer would be nearly impossible for someone with little experience.

I would go for the clear double sided tape. It's not going to hold as well as the original space material they use on those things but it will be better than the foam stuff. As for the bezel, I have no idea as they aren't sold on any of the places I normally shop.

I actually posted a similar question regarding the bezel..

I've searched at ebay, alibaba, aliexpress, oem shops, repair shops, etc.. but none seems to sell it or know where its been sold..

I've purchased a 2nd surface pro 1514 so I can disassembly it with more care and hopefully take the bezel out with no damage, then I want to check if someone can replicate it with a 3D scanner and eventually 3D print it. That's the only other option I can think of at the moment

If someone has another idea, then please share it :)
