Why does Sensor panal malfunction

Panel resets all the time it comes up with close door and select food setting after unplugging unit from a.c. I can reset clock and get it to work once then the panal will revert back to close door and then ask to select food type 1-6. What needs to be done

After the microwave malfunctions iIunplug the unit and I then plug it back in and am able to reset the panel my microwave is a G E s/n JVM172QP1WW

After you plug it back in then you get the error? Or do you get it after you set the time etc. and run it once? Have you consider that it is a faulty door switch?
