Automatic Locks not working, blows fuses.

My jeep liberty all of a sudden the automatic locks stopped working. I can hit the unlock or lock button on my key ring and it sounds as if they are popping but nothing happens. The gate is locked and I can't get it open. My husband checked the fuses and replaced them. As soon as he hit the lock button either on the key or on the door the fuse would blow. The horn and everything else works when using the key buttons.
