When I try to boot from os cd to use apple hardware test to determine if hard drive is the problem(vompletely reformatted hard drive using macdrive) and tried to do clean install of os will not install and will not go into AHT

Try holding down the "D" key when booting from the original system installation disk. Also please tell us the problem you're having. Format the hard drive from Disk Utilities and using the "write zeros" option will map out any bad blocks.
