Possibility of Using iSight Camera/Microphone Externally

Hello!

I want to take the iSight/microphone from a MacBook and stuff it in an external monitor. Right now, I'm concerned if the connections in these parts are USB. Is this so? If it's FireWire, then I don't think it's worth it for me. I am aware that I can't route the connections through DVI or whatever.
