Help us out with a little background here please. Has it ever been wet? Has it sustained a drop or has been say on? Does it ring or vibrate or do any lights come on?
The Samsung displays will go black if the LCD is cracked at all. Clean the screen and hold it at an angle to the light and see if there are any hairline fractures below the glass.
