I'm doing my own repair on the z3 and I was wondering how to separate the LOCA in between the digitizer and the LCD without damaging the LCD. I know there is a wire trick where you use a thin wire to slowly cut away in between the 2. Are there any other tricks or should I get someone to do it for me?

The other method is with a heat gun. Warm the screen up to between 70 - 90 decrees C, that's just a little too hot to touch, then separate the glass with a playing card or business card. Having got the glass off, cleaning off all the old glue is difficult, and the bare LCD is very delicate. I've tried this once with an iPhone 5 screen and failed. Your chances of success on the first one you try are not great I'm afraid, as this is a very tricky operation.

For a higher success rate you need to sustain the temperature between 70-90C on the screen while trying to separate the glass with a playing card or business card. If it gets too cold it'll be too easy to crack the LCD.
there is another trick that i saw where you use a fishing line (i have tons) to slide it inbetween and slowly move it down and seperate the glue

What do you use for glue remover? I got one of those kits which included everything you need but I think the glue remover supplied was acetone. This is so incredibly volatile that it gradually evaporates if the bottle it's kept in isn't absolutely hermetically sealed, and half of it was gone by the time I came to use it (Christmas came in between). Even after ordering some more I made a poor job of getting the LCD clean and in the ed I found I'd cracked it.
Every once in a while I have the same problem i crack about 2 out of 10 LCD's some LCDs are more fragile than others
