I have an imac 5,2 with a 1.83 ghz Intel core 2 duo. And would like to change it to a 2.33 ghz t7600. I have found the 2ghz can be converted but haven't found any information on my particular model.

Replace with any of these: T5200, T5300, T5450, T5470, T5500, T5600, T7200, T7400, T7600[

The 2.16 GHz is a T7400, M socket. You can probably take it to a 2.4 GHz T7600, M socket.
