Did you change the hard drive?

I thought I recognized you. Let's delete this question and go back to the original. There was a months lapse between what I advised and your response and I missed it.

The problem was with the LCD sensor, no hdd sensor need for kernel_task problem. The HDD sensor is only for fans.

Is the fan running fast and making very loud. If so, you make to reorient a wire. It is either a heat senser or fan sensor wire.I don't remember the exact name. It has white dot on the conector. You need to turn it 180* from how it was before installed your new hard drive. Infix it has a very good guide that explains it.

There is a sensor cable on some iMac models that must be attached to the replacement HDD for the fans to operate normally. I do not recall if the particular models include your mid-2010 iMac but the symptom you describe would be consistent with this requirement.

If you did not buy it from OWC / MacSales or other well-known Apple supporter, it is unlikely to have the required hardware.

Check with OWC to determine the correct replacement you require.

It's an issue in your lower slot
