How can I clean the input?

I had maple syrup spilled all over my Kindle, the sugar crystallized and now the buttton is stuck and im having problems connecting the cable. Can you help me? Thank you!

power off and clean with q-tip and good rubbing alcahol

Thanks! U tried that but still the same problem. I got maple syrup on it (!!!!) So crystallized and it doenst work properly. I mean, I can still charge it, but my mac doenst recognize it. Also the button got stucked and every time I try to power on/off it gets stuck and resets! :(
