Updating to iOS 10 causes trouble after battery replacement

Hello guys,

I have been replacing batteries on iDevices for a very long time.

When the new updated iOS came out (iOS10), the update seems to not accept my battery replacements. The iDevice get stuck on the Apple-logo. I have been experiencing this on four iPhone 6 now.

I am not sure if it is the battery but I think so.

Do you guys know anything about this?

Were those devices updated OTA (Over-The-Air) or through iTunes? OTA updates tend to take up a lot of space on the device and I've seen many cases of it failing on iOS 10 update through OTA.

Ended up having to do either a update or restore on iTunes to get it to work. I've also had a client with a iPhone 5s battery recently replaced from us. Stuck on apple logo like you said, we replaced the battery again for them and it booted up fine.

I think it was updated OTA.

I've tried to reapply our clients old battery but it seems to have the same problem. It seems that the problem just occurs on iPhone 6 for now and I hope it will stay that way. Do you think a new update will solve this problem?

Hello Victor,

We tried to hard reset it but it doesn't work either. We replaced the battery to the original battery but the problem is still there. The Apple logo shows up but nothing more.

do u know a little about hardware?

Hello again Victor,

I know a few things about hardware but I am kind of sure that this problem is caused by software. I just want to know why it appears and how to fix it.

Hello Felix,

I know a few things about hardware and software. There is nothing in iOS 10 that creates this issue. I have done numerous battery swaps, screen swaps, heck...I just did a full guts swap on an iPhone 6 running iOS10 with no issues.

Hello Josh,

Thank you for your reply.

We are having a discussion with an Apple Store employee in Sweden. She told me that the update from iOS 9 > iOS 10 could have this problem if the device was updated OTA.

My question is:

Is it possible that the battery replacement could affect this update and make it bug even more?

To fix this issue, you can try the below tips.

Tip 1. Force Restart your iPhone or iPad. Usually, this tip can make your device work again.

Tip 2. If tip 1 doesn't work, you may need to recovery your device in Recovery Mode.

Tip 3. Of course, there are some professional tools that you can use to repair your device.

Tip 4. If all of these tips can't help you, you can contact Apple for help.

And I also find a tutorial to fix this problem: https://goo.gl/EEEkwS

Hope this helps!^_^
