Echo slow to carry out commands also cutting out while playing music. Already tried rebooting .

It sounds like a connectivity issue or speed issue. Are there any thick or dense (brick or steel backed) walls or any large chunks of metal (a refrigerator) or anything that creates interference (computer towers) close to your router or to the Echo?
What's your internet speed, and what kind of load do you normally have on your network? If you notice that when streaming HD video, Echo has issues, then you may have a slow internet connection.

Plenty of internet speed (Virginmedia) and no walls. It works for a while then starts to cut out about a second into a play.
233 Mbps speed and no brick and steel walls. It only happens with echo and echo dot, Echo show works fine.
Same. Dots, Show, Fire Tablet + Fire TV are all fine.
Both first gen Echo's have same problem. Built in obsolescence? Nasty
