How to disassemble LS6191/LS6195 base unit of the VTech retro phone

Found 3 screws on bottom of base unit. Even after removing these, I am not able to open the base unit in order to fix the LCD display that is missing some of the lines. Does anyone know how to open the base unit? Is there a service or repair guide/manual available that shows teardown?

Update: There are two other screws underneath the rubber feet in the front. Removed these. The case must have tabs keeping the two halves held together. I started opening on one side but I did not want to break anything so stopped.

Would you mind supplying some pictures? Anything and everything you can. Perhaps make your own teardown?

Tedd Frechette , I do not own this phone, nor could I find any helpful info. on disassembly. I think you are probably on the right track, up by where the power adapter and phone line plug in are what appear to be 2 pads/feet that may peel back and expose screws, maybe not, but just check that area for hidden screws possibly. Have you already checked to see if the Dial/display just pops off, if not try to remove gently( do not force) may have hidden screws. If all screws out it may very well take a bit off pressure to get phone to split from tabs. Just work on one side/end and work your way around with a blunt pry tool, use a flash lite and magnifying glass to look at lock tabs if you can, in case you should be pushing on them to release. Good luck.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.
