So I have two ps4's...both are broken in a way, the CUH-1001A has a dead power supply unit, it won't even turn on...
I also have a ps4 model CUH-1115A..it turns on and I can play Dvds in it, but the blu ray reader is burnt out...will my disk drive from my CUH-1001A work on my 1115A model?
I know the power supply from the 1115A model won't fit in the 1001A model,so that's dead....
Any answers would be appreciated.!

If I happened to put the wrong disk drive in would it harm my ps4?
Due to the redesign, I don't think it would fit right if it were the wrong one.

You MIGHT be able to swap disc drives. There are several things to keep in mind:
1) Be sure that you keep the drive board from the disc drive with the motherboard that it came with. They are married and cannot be swapped.
2) You need to make sure that the wide ribbon cable that goes inside the disc drive will fit onto the drive board from the swapped drive. There are two different styles and they aren't the same size.
As long as you do those two things you'll be fine.
PS. Yes, the power supplies are not interchangeable.
