How to fix my fire stick?

Plug your firestick into the wall. Connect the mini usb plug into the Firestick. Go to settings and update software. The Firestick will take it from there. Prepare to wait until it reboots and runs it course. Patience is a virtue.

I have a functional FS with remote, And an ailing FS no remote. Trying to save the sick one.
I installed the sick FS. After the amazon logo and firestick logo flash a window that says Home is currently unavailable appears and stays until a pop up saying network connection error has occurred.
I would really love to "Go to settings and update whatever..." I cannot push onscreen buttons using an unpaired remote/app and my FS will never take itself to the screen that I need it to be on to pair my remote OR my android device with appstore app.
Is there a work around for how to make an on screen selection without the original synced remote? A HARD reboot perhaps? Safemode? Use your Patience Powers. Save my day.

Have you tried restarting it? Just unplug it from the wall and plug it back in.
