HDMI cable is detatchable, per your cromecast 2015 teardown. Anyone know where to obtain a replacement cable ?

You can disassemble the cable end (cast end) further. However, you'll be dealing with microsoldering and know pinouts to do much. There is also glue covering the solder surface - applied after soldering.

Here a picture of one I had the cable yanked almost out of:
