No sound after iPhone 5c screen replacement

I recently replaced the screen on my iPhone 5c (twice actually-2 different parts from ifixit) and lost the sound.

I have removed and replaced it a few times and see nothing wrong with my install. Is there something that can easily short pertaining to sound in the 5c? What part should I replace now?

Ben,

Sorry I took so long for a reply.

Yes, I can not hear anything from the earpiece during calls. They can hear me and the bottom speaker works well when I put the phone call on speaker mode.

Then try replacing the front camera ribbon / flex cable assembly as that connects to the earpiece speaker via 2 connection points on itself.

Sound from where?

During calls can't hear from the earpiece speaker at all?

People can't hear you talking during calls?

Sounds like a mounting issue with the metal plate behind the earpiece and the front camera assembly which has the earpiece speaker connector on it.

My guess is that the front camera ribbon cable is physically damaged for connection to earpiece speaker. It's worth a try to replace front camera cable just in case anyway.

So, I ordered a fc ribbon flex cable from iFixit and it did not fix the problem. Took the phone apart again and replaced the earpiece speaker from my broken LCD panel. Didn't work.

This is getting ridiculous. Any ideas now? I can barely hear the phone ringing in the ear piece

The iOS system software can go funky for no apparent reason. Consider doing a restore (Backup your iPhone via iTunes first before doing so and restore the backup to phone).

Edit: There is one more thing, the front camera FPC connector on the board looks fine right? No damaged pins? You may also want to consider cleaning it with 99% isopropyl alcohol brushing.

I'm about to scream! Now the charge port isn't working.

I opened it up again and cleaned the brass contacts and put it back together very slowly and meticulously and can't test it because the battery is dead and I can't charge it.

I have completed a 4s, 5, 6 and 2 other 5c display swaps with no problem!!

If the ear piece speaker is the problem what would cause the charge port not working now? Bad motherboard?
