2014 11" MacBook Air Does not Power on at All.

Hi all,

I have an early 2014 MacBook Air that is not powering on at all. MagSafe light is green when plugged in. I've swapped out the I/O board in hopes it was something as simple as that. Device did not power on, and MagSafe light was still green. I attempted to power it on using the power pads next to the keyboard connector.

Any suggestions on what to try next?

Here are some pictures of the board. I can take some better quality pictures if needed.

Have you tried to boot it without the battery connector plugged in?

I'm gonna launch myself in the assumption of a little water damage on the other side of the motherboard if what @cam2363 does not work follow the guide on removing the motherboartd and on the C8005 you will might have some corossion, try to clean it and hope will work if not you need to replace this component.

It usually happens without any sort of liquid spill on the machine, out of nowhere.

I will attempt both of these a bit later today and report back! Thanks for the help!

@ntheobald it worked?

Well... I found some evidence of liquid damage and tried cleaning it up, which did not yield any results, so I think I'll have to replace it. However, your answer led me to finding that out. I didn't even think to check the bottom of the board.

Thank you Oros.

I have a Macbook Air 11" that was completely dead, did not start, or boot, even the light in the cable was dead. Tried all the usual resets including removing the battery. Nothing worked.

I did though, on your advice, find some corrosion where you pointed. Corrosion removed and the Macbook is again alive and happy.

Thank you!
