How to solve Multi-page feed error during Duplex Printing?

I am having problems duplex printing with Epson L380 model. After each page is printed, it says "Multi-page feed error", then I have to manually press the copy button to get it to print again. I have to print 200-300 pages at once, so this is really inconvenient.

I don't think there is any issue with the hardware because its printing single pages without any problem, just the duplex printing is causing problems.

I want to add to this... I am also having problem with the odd page/even page printing. Every 15 pages or so later, the printer will skip a page, thus completely disturbing the page sequence. The vendor has not been able to give any solution. Wrote to Epson, got no reply yet (it has been two weeks).

This problem is occurring in Foxit PDF reader as well as MS Word, making the printer practically useless to me.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I can. But it baffles me that my new printer would not be able I do this basic function without problems.

EPSON is value for money. This bug renders it pretty useless. I had one Epson printer for quite a long time and now stopped buying Epson printer. It's pretty useless to me.

Hi, My epson L4160 is unable to do duplex printing even after downloading the driver, this bug is causing me to regret my decision on getting this epson. By setting the page type to envelope, I wont be able to choose print 2 sided(auto). Does anyone have the holy water to my problem?

I have had this problem since early days of the printer... always at the end of two sided printing it reports page feed error... but since recent updates, it starts to print a blank page after each page and then reports page feed error, have to press copy to carry on, but it has become totally unreliable and a useless printer - not being able to print two sided is a joke in today's printer market. The ecoTank is great, but not at the cost of printing ability. Also the software is so dated... I wonder if they have updated the interfaces since the late 1990's!

Very much regretting my purchase.

I have L1300 and having same problem as mentioned above even print command lost during printing you have give print command again , horrible to do two side printing

just setting the paper size same as paper size you using to print. for example if you using A4 paper for print, even your document size is letter or legal or anything size, you must setting with A4 size because you using A4 paper size to print it.

Set the page type to envelope. It's how I solved my duplex printing "Multi-page feed error" problem. I don't need to stand by the printer to press the copy button after each page any more. Hope this can solve your problem

I do not have the option to change page type to Envolpe. It is greyed out. How to fix it?

solved by setting the page type to envelope in printer settings and paper size to A4 in printer properties.

Whoever is interested in buying a printer please avoid yourself a lot of trouble stay away from Epson

I have a Epson L3150

After years of being frustrted with Epson, I finally found the solution. (I’ve tried using the ‘envelope’ setting but it did not solve my problem'.

  1. open devices and printer
  2. click on your online printer which you intend to print the document with
  3. printing preferences
  4. set Document settings to A4, 2 sided printing : Manual

(if you want to print 4 pages into 1 page: also change your ‘Multipage’ accordingly

Hi, is it possible to print all the odd pages then all even ones? Then you would only have to flip them. It's a work around, but I have to do this at work from time to time..

Yes you can but sometimes you the odd and even pages are different than the odd and even pages detected by the pdf

Hi SUZaman, it sounds like you have it on the wrong setting for Duplex Printing. Looks like you have it on Multi-Page printing instead of Double Sided printing which is a common error people make. Try setting it on Double-Sided Printing and you should be ok. I hope this helps and please let us know, Thanks, John

Sorry for the delay in reply. No, I didn't use Multi-page printing setting, I used "2-sided printing" setting and set "manual (flip on long edge)".

I had the same problem and when I checked back the page type it was on Letter (who puts letter as their standard default). So I changed them back to A4 and clicked double sided printing (long edge) and it worked magically

Hello,

Actually it can happen because of the printer feeder. I use EPson workforce 2630 and sometimes it pulls in 2 pages at time. I knew this because sometimes I find empty A4 between my printed stuff. Try changing or cleaning your printer and send it for a feeder repair. Hope it helps.

Just Try to convert the document to other file types and see if it can work. I tried from pdf to word and it worked.

I also faced problem during duplex manual printing of PDF file in epson L3150 printer, after printing one page it stopped and paper light became ON. My problem was not solved even after uninstall and reinstall of product software. Then I set the document size to A4 in printer's more options window and problem of fake 'Multipage feed error' message was solved. In windows 10, Go to device and printers, Select printer-Manage-Printer preference-More options then select Document size A4 paper and keep output size 'Same as document size' click Ok. In this way my problem was solved.
