Why is my Keyboard not working..?

The Acer E-15 ES1-512 Laptop is about 2 years old+ Out of warranty. I was using a desktop pc, so I put the Laptop up for a while. Last week I got the Laptop out and charged the battery. After battery was charged, I booted it up....at the log-in screen I could not enter my log-in Password. Using the "On-Screen Keyboard" I was able to log-in and Windows 8.1 O/S was applied. My Desktop worked w/mouse. Opening my browser I could not type anything for a URL. I opened notepad and touched every key, none of them worked...!
