I've noticed this in multiple games. Odd. An adjustable deadzone in system settings would be useful as a band-aid, but you know Sony...

That was the first thing that I tried. I finally disassembled the thing and shot the left stick (which had some drift and response issues) with some dielectric grease. No issues with the left analog or L2. You could probably use a different lube, but I can't comment on their effectiveness or potential problems. It could only be a temporary fix--but has held up through several hours of game play. I'll report back if it changes.

hoo nice if the problem resurrect try disassembling the controller, spray or brush the board with fuel or alcohol mostly the affected areas

note the fuel or alcohol should reasonably small amount

cheers

It's been going a week strong, no problems. A buddy used Rem oil, so it looks like that works. It only takes a tiny squirt or two in the base assembly of the left stick, so yeah--a little dab will do ya. ;)

I left the trigger alone, and the old L2 shuffle disappeared with the left stick drift.

I got a controller that was doing that issue and I found a permanent fix to this problem. If resetting the controller does not work, the problem is related to the joystick (joystick drift). Sometimes it will just need a clean to the potentiometer and other times, you will need to change it but they are very cheap and easy to change (no soldering require). I found this video that should help you to fix your issue : https://youtu.be/RcIza5Zz8qY
