When I turn my phone sideways it doesn't change its orientation at all. Only time it does is when I click full screen on a YouTube video. While I'm watching the video, I cant turn it back to portrait unless I leave the app.

Have you checked that the screen rotation setting is enabled?
Go to Settings > Display > Rotation and enable auto -rotate screen

What is the make and model number of your phone if not a Blu Life One X (2016).
If it is a Blu phone, try starting the phone in safe mode to see if you can get screen rotation. (method should be the same for all Blu phones and a lot of other makes).
If you can, then a downloaded app is the cause of the problem. The trick is to find out which one. You need to uninstall each downloaded app, one by one, and test the phone in normal mode, between each uninstall until it works. The last uninstalled downloaded app will be the culprit.

I recently came across the same problem. Same thing with YouTube, only time it goes to landscape. There is no “auto screen rotate” option in display, accessibility, or where I thought it was, in the drop down settings with like flashlight and wifi. I never changed any settings, that im aware of.
