Copy everything out, try a format without choosing "quick format".
There is no point repairing a HDD, just take it to the vendor and ask for warranty exchange.
As for error 0x8000FFFF, one code is basically useless, pull the event log to check more details.

Download HD Tune app on computer and make firs test this drive.... with this soft you can check when have the drive some hardeare problem or no.... when is ok, make full format and i think no problem.
When you need data you can try some recuva etc...
