Front right control arm on a 2000 chev malibu looks like this, https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/chev...
The trailing arm runs off to the rear . The ball joint and front bushing run parallel to the axle. Hope this helps

1997-2003 were all the same so pic is good for your year as well
