Tablet won't turn on

Tablet won't turn on even when plugged in. Tried hard rest, didn't work. I get a battery with an exclamation mark whenever I try to turn the tablet on. It's my battery dead?

Hi,

Try leaving the charger connected for 2-3 hours to see if the battery charging is re-activated.

Sometimes if a battery has been discharged too far, the battery management system goes into a kind of protection mode.

If it does indicate that it is charging after a while, let it fully charge before attempting to turn it on.

If this doesn't work it has only cost you a bit of time.

Perhaps you then should try replacing the battery to see if this resolves the problem.

Here is a link to the ifixit iView-776TPCII Battery Replacement guide.

Here is a link to just one supplier of a compatible battery for your tablet. (click on the 1st 'box' next to the color: line under the price for the battery to get the single piece price)

I couldn't find an exact replacement battery for the tablet online.

Looking at the specifications for the battery, (using the ifixit battery replacement guide), the battery in your tablet is a 3.7V 2800mAH LiPo battery with the dimensions of 357195 i.e. 3.5mm thick (or high) x 71mm wide x 95 mm long.

The nearest compatible battery that I could find is a 3.7V 3000mAH LiPo battery with dimensions of 356185 i.e. 3.5mm thick (or high) x 61mm wide x 85mm long.

Therefore it is smaller in two directions and may need to be secured appropriately in the tablet to prevent it from moving about, Besides having the correct electrical specifications, at least the battery will physically fit into the tablet.

It has a slightly larger capacity (7%), so it should work for a bit longer before needing to be recharged. Conversely it will also take slightly longer to fully charge again, when being recharged.

You will also need to unsolder the battery wires from the systemboard which go to the old battery and solder the new battery wires onto the systemboard.

Make a note (or take a picture) of the wire colours and where they connect to before removing the original wires from the systemboard.

Hopefully this is of some help.
